A lot of you have asked about this one. Recorded March 2002 for live performance at ALCON III in Elk Grove Village, IL. A parody of "UHF" by Al Yankovic. Disney Song
Noticing a trend  in family entertainment where if it says Disney and Pixar at the same time, it's gonna have a rousing heartfelt message song by Randy Newman. But what about the rest of us poor saps? This explains the fortunes awaiting he who getteth the Disney gig...

Cellphone on the Highway
Ich treibe auf die Datenbahn mit meinen Cellphone an.....

Don't blame me for the lousy German, I did a web-translator on it!!! I have really fallen in love with the music of Kraftwerk over the last couple of years, particularly a song I thought was really dumb when I first heard it, now 20 years later I "get it", and have done a parody utilizing the framework of "Pocket Calculator" (or "Taschenrechner" or "Mini Calculateur" or "Dentaku") - noting the increased concern over cellphone use while driving, the protagonist of this tune trumpets happily over his control and his situation while "farh'rning auf der autobahn" of life mit cellphone in Hand.....There are also German, French, and Spanish versions of this, but we'll have to see whether I let 'em out.....The synthy sounds are all culled from my Alesis QS6, sequenced in Cakewalk Pro Audio. The cellphone is...well, my cellphone!

Wonder of wonders, this recording has since made #4 on the Dr Demento Funny Five! So thanks a ton!!!

REQUEST it again on The Dr. Demento Show - and BUY it at Marianth Records!

Ever wonder what came before Power Salad? Here are 2 rare sketches from radio comedy group Zot Theater, written by Roric LaLeech and performed by Chris Mezzolesta, circa 1987-8. A bit topical, I must admit...First we give it right back to Mike Love, who as you remember, embarrassed the hell out of practically everybody at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies back around '87...the second pokes fun at not only Pat Robertson's unsuccessful bid for the Presidency (thank....God?) but also those ridiculous "party line" phone services of yore. I do all the voices except for "I guess he's OK" which is Roric. Recorded at the studio of Zot Theater member Mike Crooker, Uneven Tracks Studio in Kent, Ohio.

Enjoy, please respect the copyright* blah blah blah, and please buy some Power Salad recordings! Thanks!

*This means that you are free to download and keep the tune for yourself, but please please please ask before reposting it to a newsgroup or putting it on another webpage [and watch that Napster!!! :-)  ], particularly when artist and title info gets separated from the tune. I've found 2 of my tunes on websites "unauthorized", with no credit and a mangled title (DOS-ized 8.3 if I recall) - again, these tunes are copyrighted, so please ask before re-using any of my tunes, I'll probably say yes anyways!
