and more great artists, plus a bunch of new acts including Soggy Potato Chips!

Info on the con can be had here, and on the CME here. Get your tix and travel plans ready! I've played the con hotel with my (ex-)wedding band and it's a nice place.

Pick up the con performers benefit CD "EARPICAC", a compilation of tracks from the artists appearing at the CME, the sales of which will help offset travel and lodging costs for them. We don't make any money at this, folks! My contribution to the disc is my remake of the wacky and veddy British 1968 track by Giles, Giles and Fripp (pre-King Crimson), "Elephant Song", which was played this summer by Dr Demento.

ORDER ONE UP NOW at the CME page. Thanks for the support!

Power Salad LIVE (no kiddin'!!)

At the behest and request of my demented pal The Great Luke Ski, Power Salad returned to performing live (after a 5-year hiatus) at MARSCON, the great SciFi and RPG convention, at the Holiday Inn Select in Bloomington, Minnesota on Sunday March 4th. There was a fabulous Dementia track throughout the weekend with performances from Luke, Sudden Death, Carla Ulbrich (who arrived at the con during my set, after 4 snowbound days!), Worm Quartet, Eric Coleman, and lots of other great dementia artists, including Musical Guests of Honor, OOKLA THE MOK!

It was great to see a lot of demented friends from previous cons and meet new folks as well, and spread the Salad word. There were a couple of glitches during my performance (such as losing my setlist!!) which only added to the hilarity, but all went very well. Highlights included the first ever performance of "Katie's Dream" (from FORCE DOESN'T WORK ON A CRUSTACEAN) including a writhing-on-the-stage freakout, the live debut of our 2006 Dr Demento pick "Tabloid Heroes" played with a guitar graciously loaned by Eric Coleman, and of course the first live performance of our biggest hit "My Cat Is Afraid of the Vacuum Cleaner"!

Much food was consumed each evening as we invaded Buca di Beppo in St. Paul with something like a party of 34 or so, tons and tons of food served, then after the con a bunch of us hit Khan's Mongolian Grill in Minneapolis for more culinary grooviness.

Lots of great performances from the above-listed folks plus Rob Balder, Possible Oscar, Carrie Dahlby in her live debut, and the legendary Art Paul Schlosser. Nice to see everyone, and special shoutouts to Susan Whelchel of Cleveland, and the Winslows of Milwaukee WI, who have been fans & friends for a long time.

Barring anything happening, I will be appearing at MarsCon 2008, so stay tuned! And watch for the first ever Power Salad live album, taken from the MarsCon performance - it's available NOW!!!

Photos from the con can be found in the Photo Gallery.

I am booked to perform in Akron, OH in November 2007 as part of the Comedy Music Extravagasm at Con on the Cob!

Ve will "FuMP" (clap) You Up!!!!

New Power Salad songs only on MySpace!

Cooked up here in Spitting Otter Studios, "Tabloid Heroes" is a new Craig Marks lyric to the tune of The Kinks' "Celluloid Heroes", celebrating this year's crop of celebrity OOPS's! Dr. Demento called it "a masterpiece"!
Hear and download it at www.myspace.com/powersalad !

Also there as of this summer is our Gary Numan pastiche "Our Menu Has Recently Changed", the first all-VST Power Salad tune! (Has something to do with sounds generated from inside da computer, don't aks me....)

The latest Salad tune is a remake of a wonderfully bizarre and veddy British slice of dementia, the pre-King Crimson cheerful insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp's "Elephant Song". This was recently played by Dr Demento on his national radio show.

Also you can purchase and download songs from our catalog on our MySpace page, courtesy of our SNOCAP music store!
